6.2. Approval of the Bench Plaque Inscription in Memory of Ren, Wei Qiang
During public comment, the applicant spoke on behalf of his family about the
significance of the plaque’s inscription (late father).

6.3. Quarterly Report (January – March 2023) from Gilroy Arts Alliance
Henig reviewed the report to the commission.
7. OLD BUSINESS
7.1. Review the 2022 Arts and Culture Commission Work Plan
Below are the updates from the Commission’s Work Plan:
• No update about the GPS Art Trail.
• Bench Plaque program – sold another plaque (second in the past year).
More fundraising opportunities in the near future; will be reported at next
meeting.
• Downtown events – Participated in past art walk events through Sixth
Street Studios. Plan to be involved with Spring student show.
• ACC Community Grant – Applicant was reimbursed. Commission looking
forward to doing it again in 2023. Hoping to receive funding for it in the
upcoming budget cycle.
8. COMMISSION COMMENTS
Reynisson shared the following comments:
• Dia De Los Muertos – will be hosted in 2023 by Gilroy Downtown Business
Association in October. Would like to collaborate with the Commission. Seeking
committee members
• Frontier Communications – reached out about sponsorship opportunities. Will
report back at future meeting.
• New mural is located behind Tempo, the downtown restaurant; hoping other murals
will be painted downtown.
• Meeting with SV Creates.
