This is distressing to me and my family as long time residents of Gilroy because my infant son has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy. We have needed to call 911 seven times since March. The last time we called 911 the response time was more than 16 minutes, half of this time our son was seizing and no emergency medication to stop this seizure was available due to his age. Our only option was to call 911 as it was every other time we have called. Needless to say this Fire Station is a lifeline for our one year old baby. A seizure of 8 minutes or more is detrimental to his brain development. We hope to get these seizures under control soon but until then we depend on the services of Gilroy Fire to help our son. Please staff the Santa Teresa Fire Station adequately to serve the citizens on the south end of town especially since you continue to authorize more and more homes to be built in this area. Thank you for attention and swift action. Sincerely, Kyla Gordon 7010 Kirigin Way, Gilroy 408-838-3488
