Subject: EXTERNAL - Gilroy Firefighters Association Local 2805 -- Critical Staffing Shortages
Hello members of the Gilroy City Council,
I own a home and live in the Glen Loma Ranch community. It's come to my attention that the temporary fire station
located on the Ranch side of Christmas Hill Park that serves the Santa Teresa District has been seriously
understaffed. This presents such a serious danger to all of us residents who live here and who would depend on this
fire station for expedient emergency medical treatment or because of a fire!
Do you realize how many homes and residents there are that are impacted by this dangerous and irresponsible
situation?
I'm requesting that the Gilroy City Council engage in discussions with the Gilroy Firefighters Association Local
2805 to immediately address this critical issue of minimum daily staffing levels at the Santa Teresa Fire Station to
ensure the equitable safety and well-being of the large community of people in our part of the City of Gilroy.
Thanks in advance for your consideration in this matter!
Sincerely,
