Posted 11/06/2023 | Public Notice - Public Hearing - Modifications to City Code Chapter 30 (Zoning) Article LIV regarding Accessory Dwelling Units to align with state lawNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING GILROY CITY COUNCIL | MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2023 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Gilroy City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the item can be heard. The meeting will be held in person at Gilroy City Hall Council Chambers, located at 7351 Rosanna Street Gilroy, CA, on the following: Project Number: Z 23-05 Project Title: ADU Zoning Ordinance Update Project Applicant: City of Gilroy Project Location: Citywide Project Description: The City of Gilroy proposes modifications to City Code Chapter 30 (Zoning) Article LIV regarding Accessory Dwelling Units to align with state law. CEQA Determination: Section 15282(h) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines statutorily exempts from further environmental review the adoption of an ordinance regarding second units in a single-family or multifamily residential zone by a city or county to implement the provisions of Section 65852.2 of the Government Code as set forth in Section 21080.17 of the Public Resources Code. The subject zoning ordinance amendments are covered under Section 15282(h) of the CEQA Guidelines. Planning Commission Recommendation: On November 2, 2023, the Planning Commission reviewed the ordinance and recommended approval of the Zoning Amendment application Z 23-05 by a vote of 5-1- 1. A detailed description of the proposal is on file with the Community Development Department at City Hall. The staff report for the proposal may also be viewed on the City website (www.cityofgilroy.org) by 5:00 p.m. the Friday before the meeting. Interested parties are encouraged to attend this public hearing as this is the time and place when comments on the proposals shall be heard and given due consideration. The meeting will also be broadcast live on the City of Gilroy’s website at www.cityofgilroy.org. Persons who are unable to attend this public hearing may submit written comments by email to the project planner noted below, or by delivering them to the Planning Division at City Hall, 7351 Rosanna St. Gilroy, CA. 95020 prior to, or at the public hearing to be incorporated into the record.
