AN O RDIN"ITCE Al2,'NDING SECTION 241 OF THE MUNICIeAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF GILROY R''LATIVE TO THE ERECTION OF
BUILDINGS WITHIN THE FIRE' LI1LITS OF THE CITY OF GILROY.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do
ordain as follows: -
Section Z.
That Section 241 of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy
be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to- wit
Section 241. r,The exterior walls of all buildings hereafter
erected within the fire limits as established by Section 240 of the
municipal Code of the City of Gilroy, except as hereinafter in this
Section provided, shall be made and constructed of brick, cement
concrete or stone, with parapets or fire walls at least two feet
above the roof on all sides. The roofs of all si %ch buildings within
the fire limits shall be covered with fire proof material and be con-
structed so as to afford protection against fire.
In the erection of a two story building facing o the i�ndd of a�
street, the front wall of the second story thereof imayAbe of wooden
frame construction, covered with boards and finished with metal
lath and plaster exterior.
Nothing in this Section shall apply to the erection of outbuildings
when such outbuildings, in the opinion of the Common Council do not
increase the risk of fire.
Section 2. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
