POSSESSION OR TRANSPORTATION OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR WITHIN
THE CITY OF GILROY, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy,

do ordain as follows :-
Seotion 1.

The ihraBe "intoxioating liquor" when used. in this

Ordinanoe shall be oonstrued to inolude aloohol, brandy, whiskey,
rum, gin, beer, ale,porter and wine, and any other spirituous,
vinouB, malt or fermented liquor whioh oontains one-half of one
per oentum or more of aloohol by volume, whioh are fit ttOfllttfte
for use for beverage purposes.
Seotion 2.'
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to manufacture, possess, sell, barter, give away,
transfer, dispose of, or transport any intoxicating liquor within
the oorporate limits of the City of Gilroy exoept as provided for
and permitted by the National Prohibition Act of Ootober 28,1919,
providing for the enforoement of the Eighteenth Amendment of the
Consti tution of the United States passed by t h'f'"congress of the
United States, and AotB amendatory thereof.
Seotion 3.
Any person, firm or oorporation violating ~r

wilfully non-complying with any of the provisions of this ordinanoe
shall be ga.il ty of a, misdemeanor and shall, upon conviotion thereof
not
be punished by a fine/exoeeding One hundred Dollars, or by im-
prisonment in the City >>ri*on not exoeeding thirty d~s, or by
both suoh fine and imprisonment.

Section 4.
All ordinanoes and parts of ordinanoes of the
City of Gilroy in oonfliot herewith are hereby repealed.

foroe from and after its passage and approval.
