AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 310 OF ARTICLE II, CHAPTER II,
PART III, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF GILROY, BY AMENDING
PARAGRAPH 37 THEREOF AND BY ADDING THERETO A NEW PARAGRAPH TO BE
KNOWN AS 37a RELATIVE TO THE LICENSE TAX ON THEATRES, MOVING PICTURES
AND SHOWS.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do hereby
ordain as follows:
SECTION I.
That Section 310 of Article II, Chapter LL, Part III of the
Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy be amended by amending paragraph
37 thereof and by adding thereto a new paragraph to be known as 37a,
which paragraph shall read as follows:
37. For each theatrical performance, opera, moving picture
show, concert, exhibition given by minstrels, panorama, magic lantern
or scenic entertainment, skating, dancing or ballet, and shows of any
kind not otherwise in this section mentioned, for the first performance,
Three Dollars, and for each subsequent performance when a series of
exhibitions are given on consecutive days by the same party or parties,
the sum of Two Dollars; provided that the proprietor or lessor of any
theatre, hall, moving picture house, or place where such performances
or exhibitions are given, may aec;ure an annual license for such place
of entertainment which shall be,', �kDollars per year, in advance.
37a. Every pdrson, firm or corporation who shall conduct or
carry 9�t a tent or other temporary structure erected solely for the
purpose of such entertainment within the City of Gilroy, any show,
exhibition, performance, tent show, airOme performance or entertainment,
girl show, musical comedy, drama, comedy drama or farce, vaudeville
performances, road show, traveling freak show, theatrical performances,
opera singing or concert singing, shall pay a license tax therefor of �,� 3.

seventy -five dollars per day.
Section II.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed,
Section III.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage and approval.
