AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF GASOLINE TANKS
UNDER STREETS OR SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY UT_ �, - R A.XY a A C OT IN-2
PUMP OR STATIONARY TIRE Ft]LLING STAND PIPE OR APPARATUS THEREON.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do ordain
as follows:
Section I.
That after the 12th day of March, 1926, no permit shall be
granted to any person, firm or corporation to place any gasoline
tank or container for gasoline or petroleum products with a pump on
the street or sidewalk Attached'thereto''under any street or side-
walk in the City of Gilroy, nor shall any permit be granted to any per-
son, firm or corporation to install any stationary gasoline pump or
any stationary stand pipe or apparatus for putting air in pneumatic
tires, on any street or sidewalk within the City of Gilroy. All
stationary gasoline pumps and all stationary stand pipes or apparatus
for putting air in pneumatic tires now installed in any street or
sidewalk in the City of Gilroy must be removed from such street or
sidewalk prior to the 12th day of September, 1927, and thereafter it
shall be unlawful to maintain any gasoline pump or any stationary stand
pipe or stationary apparatus for filling pneumatic tires on any street
or sidewalk in the City of Gilroy.
All persons, firms or corporations violating or wilfully -non-
complying with the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and onconviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not
to exceed One Hundred Dollars or by imprisonment in the city prison
not to exceed thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section II.
This ordinance shall take- effect and be in force from and
