ORDINANCE NO. 389.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 310 OF ARTICLE II CHAPTER II
PART III OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TPtE CITY OF GILROY, BY AMEND-
ING SUBDIVISION 28a OF SECTION 310 RELATIVE TO THE LICENSE ~O BE
cmmGED FOH OPERATING MorrOR DRIVEN VEHICLES FOR. rrRE PURPOSE OF
TRANSPORTING OR DIs'rRIBUTING MERCHANDISE WITHIN THE CITY OF
GILROY, AND REPEALING SUBDIVISION 28b OF SAID SECTION 310.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do or-
dain as follows:
Section 1. That Subdivision 28a of Section 310 of Article
II Chapter II Part III of the Municipal Code of the City of Gil-
roy be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
28a. Except as hereinafter in this Subdivision provided,
every person, firm or corporation operating any motor vehicle in
the City of Gilroy for the purpose of transporting or distribut-
ing in the Oity of Gilroy any kind of goods, wares or merchandise
including bread, cakes, pies, pastry and any and all kinds of
manufactured bakery products, cured meat and any and all kinds
of slaughter house products, groceries, soft drinks, designated
for beverage purposes. candy, lu~ber, lime, cement, building
material of any and every kind, and merchandise of any and every
description, shall pay a license fee of Eight($8.00) Dollars per
quarter for each such vehicle, provided, however, that nothing
in this subdivision shall apply to persons, firms or corporations
having a fixed place of business in the City of Gilroy, who pays
a regular merchandise license for conducting business in the
City of Gilroy.
Section 2. That Subdivision 28b of S~ction 310 of Article II
Ohapter II Part III of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy

be, and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
