ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING Trill HOURS OF BUSINESS \miEN AND THE
PLACE OF BUSINESS vVHERE, UNCURED AND UNCOOKED MEATS ARE SOID,
OFFERED FOR SALE, RECEIVED OR DELI~~RED, AND PRESCRIBING A
PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Common Council of the
City of Gilroy as Follows:
Section I. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm,

partnership, association or corporation, to sell or offer for
sale any uncured or uncooked meats from any established place
of business in the City of Gilroy, for the purpose of sale or
delivery to dealers or consumers or for the purpose of any
delivery (express 'orders excepted), or to keep open for business
any place of business where any uncured or uncooked meats are
sold or offered for sale, or permit such place to be kept open
for business, or to receive at such place of business, any un-
cured or uncooked meats, except between the hours of seven
o'clock A. M. and six o'clock P. M., on days other than Sunday,
Nevv Year's Day, Washington's Birthday, Decora tion Day, Fourth
of July, Labor Day, Admission Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas
Day, or to sell or offer for sale, within the City of Gilroy, any
uncured or uncooked meats, except at and from an established and
fixed place of business at which said meets are regularly inspect-
ed by State and Munici.pal Inspectors, provided, however, that in
cases of a holiday falling on a Satu1"'day, Sunday, or Monday, the
places of business hereinabove defined may be kept open between
the hours of seven o'clock A. M. and twelve o'clock noon. And,
be it further provided, that all emergency cases be left to the
diseretion of the Health Officer of the City of Gilroy.

Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation, violating
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punish-
ed by a fine of not more than on~ hundred ($100.00) dollars, or
by imprisonment in the City Prison for a period of not more
than ~,tl'l1~ty (30) days
or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 8. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in

conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4. All ordinances shall take effect and be in
