OF ARTICLE II, OHAPTER ~I, PART III, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE OITY OF GILROY, RELATIVE TO THE LICENSE TO BE CHARGED THOSE

il DUOE, HAY, GRAIN AND VEGETABL~GOODS, WARES AND MEROHANDISE IN
I THE CITY OF GILROY, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANOES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT IffiTIKNITH.
The Kayor and Common Council of the Oity of Gilroy do or-
dain as follows:-
Section I.
That Subdivision 28 of Section 310 of Article II, Chapter
II, Part III of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy be
amended to read as follows:
28. For the business ot solioiting or canvassing for the
sale of books, map. or pictures, the sum of Five Dollars per
month.
For the peddling of farm produoe, grain, hay, vegetables,
meats, poultry, eggs, butter and oheese, not raised by the per-
son vending the same, upon land or premises owned or rented by
him, within the County of Santa Olara, and who has no
fixed plaoe of business in the City of Gilroy, the sum of Three
Hundred Dollars per year, payable annually in advance.
For the peddling, hawking or itinerant vending of drygoods,
grooeries, hardware, jewelry or any other goods, wares or mer_
chandise or commodities, not otherwise provided for in this
secbion, or for canvassing or solioiting for the sale ot the
same, with or without samples, by those having no fixed plaoe of
business in the City of Gilroy, the sum of Three Hundred Dollars
per year, payable annually in advanoe. Nothing herein contained
shall be deemed to apply to the owner or employee of any es-

tablished business house in the ~ity of Gilroy canvassing or
soliciting sales of their goods) or to canvassers or solicitors
of established wholesale dealers who shall canvass or solicit
ordel"'s from established dealers who. retail such commodity only ~
Section II.
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section III.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
