AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBDIVISION NO. 5 OF SEC'lllON 240
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OJ:<I GILROY, RELA'l'IVE TO THE
FIRE LIMI'i'S Of4' 'lIHE CI'l'Y OF GILROY.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do
ordain as follows:
SECTION I.

That Subdivision 5 of Section 240 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Gilroy be and the S8me is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Subdivision 5. The fire limits of the City of Gilroy
shall comprise the blocks and parts of blocks herein named,
viz: Commencing at a point in the center of Third Street
150 feet Westerly from the point where the Westerly line of
Monterey Street intersects the center line of Third Street;
thence Northerly and parallel with the Westerly line of
Monterey street to the center line of Second Street; thence
Easterly and along the center line of Second Street to the
center line of Monterey street; thence 'southerly along said

last named line to a point where the Northerly line of I.O.O.F.
Avenue, if projected Westerly, would intersect the center line
of Monterey Street; thence Easterly and along the Northerly
line of I.O.O.F. Avenue and the Westerly prolongation thereof
to the center line of the Southern Pacific Company Railroad
track; thence Southerly and along the center line of the
Southern Pacific Railroad track to Lewis Street; thence
Easterly along the center line of Lewis Street to the center
line of Railroad Street; thence Southerly along the center
line of Railroad Street to the center line of Old Gilroy
Street; thence Westerly along the center line of Old Gilroy
Street to the center line of the Southern Pacific Railroad
track; thence Southerly and along the center line of said

Southern Pacific Railroad track to a point where said line
intersects a prolongation of the center line of Ninth street;
thence Westerly along said prolongation and the center line of
Ninth street to a point 150 feet West of Monterey street; thence
Northerly along a line parallel with the Westerly line of Monterey
street to the center line of seventh street; thence westerly
along the center line of Seventh Street to the center line of
Eigleberry street; thence Northerly along the center line of
Eigleberry street to a point 100 feet Northerly from the Northerly
line of Sixth street; thence at right angles Easterly to a point
150 feet West of Monterey street; thence Ncr therly and t:5'rallel
with Monterey Street to a point 100 feet South of the south line
of Fifth street; thence at right angles Westerly to the center
line of Eigleberry street; thence Northerly to a point 100 feet
North of the North line of Fifth Street; thence at right angles
Easterly to a point 150 feet Westerly of the Westerly line of
Monterey street; thence Northerly and parallel with Monterey
str~et to the point of beginning.
SECTION II.
This crdinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
SEC'llION III.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Adopted this 3rd day of December, 1928, by the following
