AN ORDINANCE TO ALIEND SECTION SEVEN (7) OF ORDINANCE
NO. 428, RELATING TO OFFAL, REFUSE, GARBAGE AND DEBRIS
DISPOSAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY:
SECTION 1: Section Seven (7) of Ordinance No. 428, passed
and approved the 3rd day of January, 1939 is hereby amended to
read as follows, to wit:
SECTION 7: UNLAWFUL POR ANY PEHSON TO ENGAGE IN BUSINESS
OF COLLECTING OR TRANSPOR'l'ING GARBAGE OR REFUSE MATTER WITHOUT
A PERNIT: It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or
"
carryon the business of collecing, removing or transporting
garbage or refuse matter as herein defined, in the city of Gilroy,
without first entering into a written contract with the said city
of Gilroy for such purpose and obtaining a permit from the Common
Council of said city to engage in or carryon said business; and
surety
in addition thereto, filing a/bond in favor of the city of Gilroy
in the pe nal sum of Two Thousand Pi ve Hundred 1))llars conditioned
for the faithful compliance and peri'ormance of' and with the terms
of such contract and with the provisions of this ordinance, on the
part of such person engacing in or carrying on said garbage and
refuse collecting business.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
