R DIN A N C E N o. 426 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 32 OF ARTICLE V OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 3556 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NUMBER 3576 AND AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4246 RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC 6 THE USE AND CARE OF VEHICLES AND PRESCRIBING A PARKING TIME LIMIT FOR VEHICLES UPON CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF GILROY AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF. THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That section 32 of Article V of Ordinance Number 3556 as amended by ordinance number 3576 and as amended by Ordinance No. 4246 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows6 to wit:- SECTION 2. PARKING TIME LIMITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES. The operator of a vehicle shall not park such vehicle for a longer period of time than one (1) hour on Monterey Street between Seventh Street and Martin Lane on the Easterly side of said Monterey Street, and from said Seventh Street to Third Street on the WesterfY side of said Monterey Street. ) . ; ) 1J->~ ~" j ) J "----'--'--,-----:;;~w;.;i!.l."'"~~ /' f::o(\': .' : .. _~7;.~ < : ~ ~~.~~hrn~~~".. .' , ...>l~1~" ':~ r--~'-- "':_"'" ,.',......" !.~ - ~."'.,..:A.'.'. .... '.. .', 5/ The operator of a vehicle shall not park such vehicle for a longer period of time than ten (10) minutes on the Southerly side of Sixth Street between the alley on the Southerly side of said Sixth Street and Eigleberry Street for a distance of sixty (60) feet6 which said sixty (60) feet shall be painted yellow on the curb, and an appropiate sign designating such ten (10) minute shall be erected and maintained at said place; parking limit' nor for a longer period of time than two ,(2) hours on the remaining portion of Sixth street between Eigleberry Street and Monterey street;. nor for a longer period of time than y two (2) hours on Fifth Street between Monterey Street and Eigleberry Street; nor for a longer period of time than two (2) hours on Lewis street between Monterey Street and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks; nor for a longer period of time than two (2) hours on Martin street between Monterey Street and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks; nor for a longer period 9f time than two (2) hours on East Sixth Street between Monterey Street and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks; nor for a longer period of time than two (2) hours on Old Gilroy Street between Monterey Street and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks,. between the hours of seven (7:00) o'clock A.M. and six (6:00) o'clock P.M. of any day except SundaY6 and subject to the special restrictions imposed by Section 30 and 31. At least two signs shall be erected and maintained in each block on said streets designating the parking time limit herein set forth. SECTION 3. Any person, firm, partnership, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be pun- ished by a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars $100.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period of not more than thirty (30) days6 or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day or fraction thereof any person6 firm, partnership or corporation shall violate ~y of the provisions hereof shall be considered separate and distinct offenses. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
