The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Gilroy do or- dain as follows: Section I. That Section 270 of Chapter I, Part III of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 270. On the 20th day of April of each year at 5 o'clock P. M. all taxes then unpaid are delinquent and thereafter the Tax Collector must collect for the use of the City an ad- ditional five percent thereon. The taxes on all personal property unsecured by real property shall be due and payable immediately after the assessment of said personal property is made, and if unpaid on the 5th day of De- cember of each year, at 5 o'clock P. M., are delinquent and there- after the Tax Collector must collect for the use of the City an additional five percent thereon. Section II. That Section 272 of Chapter I, Part III of the Municipal Code of the City of G11roy be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 272. On the ~ Monday in~Of each year .ll '.... the Tax Collector shall deliver to the City Clerk a complete "D1!J- v- linquent Listll of all property upon which all taxes are then un- paid and the pBrsons owing said taxes. Such list must contain a description of the property taxed, the amount of taxes due there- on and the names of the persons to w horn the property is assessed, If v arranged in alphabetical order, properly indexed. " Section III. That Section 274 of Chapter I, Part III of the Municipal Code of the City of Gilroy be, and the same is hereby amended to read as' follows: Section 274. On or before the r Monday of May of each year the Tax Collector must publish the Delinquent List which must contain the names of the persons and a description of the prop- erty delinquent and the amount of taxes, penalties and costs due opposite each name and description with the taxes sue on personal property and all other taxes due from such person or property; provided however, that before the publication of said list, the Tax Collector and the City Clerk shall jointly arrange said list in such manner that said publication shall designate in some \ manner the property contained in said l,st on which taxes due to the Cit~ for previous years remain unpaid. The Delinquent List must be published once a we,ek for three successive weeks in some newspaper published in the City of Gilroy, or a supplement thereto issued at the same time as a part of said newspaper to.its subscribers. He must append to said list and publish therewith a notice that unless the taxes delinquent, the percentage added, and the costs are paid, the real property upon which said taxes are a lien will be sold in the manner prescribed by law. Said notice shall designate the manner in which the prop- erty shall be sold, together with the time and place of sale. The time of sale must not be less than twenty-one or more than twenty- eight days from the time of the first publication and the place of sale shall be the office of the Tax Collector. Section IV. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. 2 Section v. This ordinance ahall take effeot from and after its passage and approval.
