DINANCES IN CONFLI C'1' 'rHEREWITH. 'rhe Mayor' and COnID10n Council of the City of Gilroy do ordain as follows: Section 1. That Sections Nos. 349, 350, 351, 352 and 353, of Article I, Chapter III, of Part III, of the Municipal Code of tbe City of Gilroy, be and ,the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: Section 349. Council to Fix Hates. It shall be Uletiuty of the Common Council to fix the rates to be charged for water, and the same to remain in force and effect until ordered changed by the Common Council. Sec.Gion 350. Hate li;stablished. The following water rates are hereby established and the City Clerk is hereby directed and authorized to charge and collect for all water furnished by the City, the following sums per month, to-wit: For 3/4-inch IVieter service for 6,000 gallons, a minimum charge of ~1.25. For each additional 1,000 gallons 10 cents. For I-inch r'leter service for 7,000 gallons, a minimum charge of c:pl.50. For each additional 1,000 gallons, 10 cents. For 1 1/2-inch Lleter service for 9,000 gallons, a minimum cl1.al>ge of ;;B2.25. For each additional 1,000 gallons 10 cents. For 2-inch hieter service for 11,000 gallons, a minimum charge, , of $2.75. For each additional 1,000 gallons, 10 cents. For 4-inch Meter service for 30,000 gallons, a minimum charge of ~5.25. For each additional 1,000 gallons, 10 conts. '.', < r' t- For water served outside City limits for 5,000 gallons, a minimum charge of <~1.75. For each additional 1,000 gallons 10 cents. For each sto-re, office or dwelling served 'Nith water, not through a meter, a minimum charge of $1.00. Section 351. Use of water for short periods. Persons desiring to use water for a period less than one .year or for temporary use must make arrangements with the Water Committee of the Common Council for such use. In no instance shall the Co'mmittee make a rate for such use for less than double the monthly rates named in the foregoing schedule. Section 352. Charge for excessive use or waste. Consumers making excessive or wasteful use of water ~ill be charged an additional rate to be determined by the Water' Committee after investigation of such cases. Section 353. Installation charge. Persons desiring the use of water shall, upon mal{ing appli- cation for such service, pay to the City Clerk the sum of Three D:>llars for the installation of a water meter. Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are' hereby repealed. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
