AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE REMOVAL OF' ALL POLES SUPPORTING
WIRES USED IN CONDUCTING ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER AND ALL POLES
SUPPORTING WIRES USED FOR TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH PURPOSES FROM
MONTEREY STREET IN THE CITY OF GILROY, BETWEEN THE SOUTHERLY LINE
OF MARTIN LANE (ALSO KNOWN AS I. O. O. F. AVENUE), PROLONGATED
WESTERLY ACROSS MONTEREY STREET, .AND THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF THE
LEAVESLEY ROAD PROLONGATED WESTERLY ACROSS MONTEREY STREET.
The Mayor and Common Council of the Oi ty of <Jtl.lroy do or-
dain as follows:-
Section I.
All persons, firms and corporations maintaining poles used
for supporting wires used for conducting electric light and power,
and poles used for telephone and telegraph purposes on Monterey
Street in the City of Gjlroy, between the Southerly line of Martin
Lane (also known as I. O. O. F. Avenue), prolongated ~Vesterly a-
cross Monterey Street, and the Southerly line of the Leavesley Roa
prolongated Westerly across said Monterey Street, shall cause such
, poles to be removed from said Mon~erey Street within~dayS
from the passage and approval of this ordinance.
Section II.
Any person, firm or corporation violating or wilfully non-
complying with any provision of this ordinance is guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and shall upon conviction thereof be punished by a fine f
not exceeding one humdred dollars, or by imprisonment in the City
Prison not exceeding thirty days, or by both such fine and im-
prisonment.
Section III.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
