In response to your request, RBF Consulting is pleased to present this addendum to
provide the final design for the improvements of Santa Teresa Boulevard. Included in this
scope of work are additional easements and modifications to the soundwalls, median
lighting, and conceptual entry feature designs.
Consultant will also meandered the sidewalk in locations previously identified and modify
specifications for soundwall finish at no cost to the City. Excluded from this scope is any
lighting of the soundwalls, modification to the existing median hardscape and final site plan
and specifications for a design -build entry feature.
Enclosed for your review are the following exhibits: Scope of Services, Exhibit "A" and
Proposed Compensation, Exhibit "B ".

EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF WORK
SANTA TERESA BOULEVARD WIDENING
ADDENDUM #9
TASK I FINAL DESIGN PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATES
TASK 1.01 IMPROVEMENT PLAN MODIFICATIONS
Consultant will add 300' of soundwall to improvement plans between sta.
56 +00 and sta. 59 +00. Consultantwill prepare three construction easements
for the new wall. Consultant will calculate and add wall quantities and costs
to bid schedule and engineer's estimate.
TASK 1.02 MEDIAN LIGHTING
There is roughly 2600 feet of open area within the medians on Santa Teresa
from 1" Street to Sunrise. The majority of the area is taken up by hardscape
for 4' wide median areas. Consultant will prepare improvement plans for
median landscape lights placing 2 lights on 20' intervals for approximately
260 lights. Consultant will place outlets at appropriate locations for possible
Christmas or other decorative lights.
TASK 1.03 CONCEPTUAL ENTRY MONUMENT DESIGN
RBF will prepare three design alternatives for two entry monuments; one
primary entry monument for major City entry's or gateways and one
secondary entry monument for other city entry points (six drawings total).
The design fo the entry monuments will be designed to resemble the mass
and form of the "Custom entry and Painters" shown on page 12 in the Sierra
Precast, Inc. catalogue and will include embossed lettering similar to the
"sign plaques" shown on page 11 of that catalog. The designs will finish with
a combination of stucco and stone and the other primarily of a stone finish.
A rough preliminary design and a preliminary estimate of construction costs
will be submitted to the city for review and comment. Upon review and
comment by the City, RBF will refine the conceptual designs and cost
estimates and submit to the City for review, comment and approval.
The work tasks will include:
1. Research and investigation: visit Gilroy, historical research, identify a
typical primary and secondary intersection, discuss options with
Representatives of Sierra Precast.
2. Design approximately three alternatives for the primary and secondary

3. Prepare Preliminary Cost Estimates
4. Refine alternatives based on City input
5. Prepare final presentation and quality exhibits
6. Make final adjustments based on city input

The terms of the base contract agreement for the design of Santa Teresa
Boulevard provides for a 10% escalation clause for that portion of the
contract work remaining after December 31, 2002. Based upon the
December 2002 invoices, the remaining design work for the base contract
and addendum #1 is $37,670.50 As such the escalation amount for design
services is $3,767.00
TASK 1.05 ESCALATION CLAUSE, CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES
The terms of the base contract agreement for the design of Santa Teresa
Boulevard provides for a 10% escalation clause for that portion of the
contract work remaining after December 31, 2002. Based upon the
December 2002 invoices, the remaining construction support services for
the base contract and addendum #1 is $17,498.96. As such the escalation
amount for the construction support services portion of the contract is
$1,750.00

The total payment to CONSULTANT for all work, service, material, equipment and
incidentals necessary for performing and completing the Tasks set forth in this agreement,
shall be for the sum of $28,917.00
CITY shall compensate CONSULTANT in proportion to the services performed and
invoiced to the CITY as outlined below, subject to Article 4 of this agreement.
