RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY PESIGNATING RAILROAD STREET AS A STREET
OF fu~JOR Ifu~ORTANCE WITHIN THE CORPORATE
LIMITS OF TEE CITY OF GILROY.
WHEREAS, the State of California, through its Department of
Public Works,Division of Highways, requires that certain streets
within the Corporate Limits of the City of Gilroy be designated
as streets of 1~jor Importance for the expenditure of the one-
fourth (!) cent gas tax allocated to said City, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires that certain streets be
so degignated and approved by the State of California, through
its Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, as streets
of l~jor Importance;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Gilroy, that the following street within the Corporate Limits
of said City be so designated as a Street of Major Importance,
other than a State Highway:
Railroad Street, from its Northerly terminus with Lewis
Street to its Southerly terminus with Old Gilroy Street,
and it is hereby resolved and approved that said Street be so
designated and the Mayor and City Clerk are directed to sign the
same on behalf of said City of Gilroy.
Passed,approved and adopted this 5th day of February,1~40
at a regular monthly meeting of the Common Council of the City
of Gilroy.
