Resolution 1923/08/17 By motion of Chas. E. Fredrickson, seconded by Chas. W. Schemel the ~ollowing resolution was passed: ..\VHEUEAS, at a special election held in the City of Gtl- roy on the 14th day or August, 1923, pursuant to the pro- visions o~ Ordinance No. 324 of' the City o~ Gilroy, the to- tal number o~ votes cast on the proposition submitted, viz: "Shall the City of Gilroy incur a bonded debt to the amount of' $ 87,000. for the purpose of the acquisition, construct- ion and completion or a municipal improvement, namely; the repairing of water mains ancl service connections of' the Ci~y of Gilroy; the installation of' new water mains at all places where the present water mains are unfitted ror use or are inadequate to supply the wants of the residents of' said City, and also where no water mains now exist; and the in~ stallation of meters and meter boxes on all water service connections of' the City of Gilroy; such clebt to bear int~r- cst at the rate of five per centum per annum, payable semi- annually," was one hundred and ninety (190) and that of said one hundred ancl ninety (190) votes so cast, one hun(lred and fifty-two (152) thereor were cast in ravor o~ said proposit- ion and thirty-eight (~8) thereof were cast against the said proposi tion, an(l WHEREAS, due notice of said election was given and said election was heht at the time amI in the manner as required , by\law and said Ordinance No. 324 of said City of Gilroy, and, WHEREAS, said election was legally and fairly conducted and the returns thereor were duly amI regularly ma(le to the Mayor and COIlBDon Council of the said City of Gilroy, an<<1 said re- turns have been duly canvassed by said Mayor an(t Common Council, as required by law, and, -I 132 ""'""""""'.."'.,..........,.. 4 "" ~ " '.'\"'1"'l:l>""_'_'_~ ~~. _.~,~. ., ,="",'.=~""""'=.' ~-~~'''''~='-~=''-~~'=-'";;''-="",,'';.='',".,,,~..,:-' .,;:;, WHEl:lliAS, the total number o:f votes cast at saill special ;,<~: P<~" V election on saill proposition was one hundred and ninety (190) ,. .,.'-w t'~a: and two-thirds thereof were in favor of such proposition anll of incurring the inllehtedness in said proposition mentioned; NOW, THEHEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the said proposit- ion was, and the Mayor and Common Council of the City o~ Gilroy do hereby find and declare that said proposition was duly accepted and adopted by the votes or two-thirds of the voters voting at said special election, and that said propo- sition was duly accepted by the qualified voters o~ the City or Gilroy, and that the City of Gilroy is duly authorized to issue bonds of saill City in the amount of Eighty-seven Thous- and ($87,000.00) ~ollars, as in ()rllinance No. 324 fully set forth.
