By motion or Chas. W. Sc~emel, seconded by E. J. Chesbro,
the following resolution was adopted:-

WHEHEAS, C. C. Lester, one of the Councilmen of the City of
Gilroy, died on the 13th day of Se~tember, 1922, and
W'HEHEAS, a vacancy bas occurred in the office of Councilman by
reason of the death or said C. c. Lester, which vacancy has occurred
at a time more than three months previous to the regular election,
NOW THEHEFOll.E, Be it ResolTed, that the office of Councilman
heretofore held by said c. C. IJester be, anll the same is here'hy
declared Tacant, and
Be it Further Resolved, that a special election be called to
be held in the City of Gilroy on 'fednesday the 8th day of November,
1922, for the purpose or electing a Councilman to rill such vacancy;
that for the purpose of said special election there shall be two
election precincts in the City of Gilroy, which are hereby established;
FIRST PHECINCT: For the purpose or said special election,
Gilroy Precinct No.1, Gilroy Precinct No. 2 and Gilroy Precinct
No.3 as established.bY the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Santa Clara, are hereby consolidated and shall be 1000wn as First
Precinct the polling place or which precinct shall be the municipal
fire house on Fifth Street and t~e Board of Election shall be:
Inspector, J. M. Mullen
Judges, Frank C. Stanirord and Sam Hooper
Clerks, Anna B. Talcott, Hazel ~{artin and Fannie Holmes.

SECOND PRgCINCT:
For the purpose of said special election,
Gilroy precinct No. 4 and Gilroy precinct No.5, as established by
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara, are hereby
consolidated and shall be known as Second Precinct, the polling
place of which precinct shall be the City Hall in the City of Gilr!'y,
and the Board of Election of said precinct shall be:
Inspectoe, Geo. Girt
Judges, Lou ~uden and Sarah F. Tryon
Clerks, Adele Dombaugh, May Hollenback and Mary E. Lord.
The Clerk of the City of Gilroy shall cause the necessary
proclamation to be published.

chas. W. Schemel;
Noes, Councilmen, None; Absent, Councilman A. W. Brown.
