RESOLUTION NO.175
1. WHEREAS,the State of California under ~hapter 47,Statutes 01' 1944,
(4th E:xtra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the
Director of Finanoe to pFovide financial assistance to Local Agencies
defined therein as counties,cities and counties and cities for the
purpose 01' defraying not to exceed one-half the cost of preparing
engineering field surveys,engineering or a.chite*tural des~s,and
working and detailed drawings and specifications (hereinafter oalled
"Plans") required for postwar and public works projects described as
"specific projects" in said Act; and
2. WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy,hereinafter des jgna ted as tfLocal Agency",
desires to apply to the Director of Finance and70r the Post War
Public Works Review Board,as the case may be,for an allotment of the
State's share of the estimated cost of preparing the completed plans
hereinafter mentioned and there has been prepared and presented to
this Legislative Body for consideration an application for such
purpos e s ; and .
3. WHEREAS,Local Agency has provided,or will make available upon
approval of the aforementioned application,sufficient funds to prepare
the completed plans herein mentioned;
4. NOEW TlmREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Local Agency submit the afore-
said ap '?li cat ion to the Direotor 'f Finance and/or the Post War .
Public Works Review Board,~s the case may be,requesting allotment
of Two Hundr'ed and Fifty and NO/lOO ($250.00) Dollars be ing not more
than one-half the cost of preparing said completed plans ,or for
such amount as may be approved by the Director of Finance and/or
the Post War Publio Works Review Board (said-allotment to be used for
the purpose of defraying the cost of preparing said completed Jplans
required), for a specifio project to be undertaken by Local Agency
and described as "Installation 0 l' Traffic Control Lights on State
Route 2";
5.BE IT :roRTBER RESOLVED, that the estimated cost of preparing such
plans is One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) and that Local Agency has
made provision for paying one-half or more of the cost of preparing
such plans;
6.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that Local Agency hereby assigns to the
State Department of Public Works,Division of Highways,for use by
said assignee in defraying cost of preparation of complete plans for
said publicworks project any and all funds which may be alloted to
Local Agency pursuant to said application,suoh assignment to be
effective as of the date of the allotment;
7.BE IT FURl'HER RESOLVED,that for the purpose 01' this application
W.J.Hanna,City Engineer,P.O.Bo:x 28l,Gilroy,California, be and he
bereby is designated as the authorized agent of Local Agency and is
hereby authorized and directed to sign 1the above-mentioned application
on behalf of Local Agency and submit the same to the Director of
Finance and/or the Post War Public Works Review ~oard together with~
cert if ied statement of the est :imated cost of preparing suoh plans and
such other information as may be required;and said authorized agent
is further authorized and directed as the representative of Loo;al
Agency to conduct all n&gotiations and conclude all arrangements,
ancluding submission to the Director of Finance of applications for
reimbursement,which may be necessary to secure reimbursament for the
State's shareof the expenditures made in prep1ring said completed
plans.
