RESOLUTION OF TF..E COMIWN COUNCIL OF TEill CITY OF GILROY ADOPTING
AS A POLICY THE REQ,UIRELIENT THAT NO SUBDIVISION, OR MAP TlillHEOF,
OF TERRITORY INSIDE THE CITY OF GILROY BE APPROVED BY 1HE COUNCIL
UNLESS AND UNrIL STREETS AL"'JD .ALLEYS ARE ESTABLISHED AND GRADED AS
REQ,UIRED BY THE CITY OF GIIROY.
V'IHEREAS the growth of the City 0 f Gilroy is resulting in the sub-
division of land within the oity limits, and some of the said sub-
divisions have been oreated without provision having been made by
the subdivider or owner for estaUlishing and grading streets and
alleys, and without referenoe to any comprehensive plan for the
development of the City of Gilroy, and
~REREAS no definite polioy has heretofore been adopted by the
COTImlOn Counoil of the City of Gilroy relative to suoh streets and
alleys, and suoh want of polioy has led to ~noertainties as to the
requirements of the City of Gilroy, oreating unneoessary diffioulties,
ani the Council believes that the orderly developmentof the City
requires that a polioy be deter.mined upon and adopted, and plaoed
in the reoord relative to the streets and alleys in new subdivisions,
and the Common Counoil having duly oonsidered the same,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESO LVED by the Comon Cotim il of the City
of Gilroy, and deolared to be its polioy, that it will not in the
future approve any subdivision of land in the City of Gilroy or any
Map or Plat thereof, until and unless the subdivider o~ owner of such
traot shall have established,gravelled,oiled and graded streets and
alleys and laid sidewalks,ourbs and gutters in the subdivision sat-
isfaotory and aooeptable to the Common Counoil cilf the City of Gilroy.
ADOPTED AND PAsSED the 12th day of June,1950, by the follmving vote:
