RESOLUTION OF THE Cmi}1ON COU~TCIL OF Tiff' CITY OF GIL.ROY
PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF T~m PROPOSED A1IJl1EXATION OF
UNINHABI'rED TERRITO.J.Y, DESIGNATED AS "CASTlEWOOD PARK,
Ul'TIT NO.3" TO THE CITY OF GILROY, UNDER TrIT' ANNEXATION
OF u~INHABITID TERRITORY ACT OF 1939.
r,{HEREAS, a vlritten petition has heretofore been filed
in the office of the-:;lerk of the City of Gilroy under the
provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939n as set forth within secti ons 35300 to 35325 inclusive,
of the Government Code of the state of california, asking that
there be annexed to the City of Gilroy as uninhabited territory
the following described tract r)f land, contiguous to the City
of Gilroy city limits, situated in the County of Santa Clara,
Pt3.te of Calj forni a, to -'IIli t:
Being a portion of Las Animas ~anch UJt 16
as shown on Eap No. 7 accompanying the report
of the referees in the Las Animas p.ancho
Partition Suit, Action No. 5536 had in the
Superior Court of the state of California, in
and for the County of sant a Clara, and be ing
more p~rticularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northwesterly corner of Tract
No. 506 Castlewood park, Unit No.1, as shown
on the Eap thereof recorded in Book 18 of Maps
at page 40, Records of Santa Clara County,
California, and running thence along the westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of said Tract

itHiERFAS, it appears that said petition has been signed
by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1;4) of the area of
the land in such territory and represents not less than one-
fourth of the assessed value of such territory according to the
last preceding equalized assessment role of the County of Senta
Clara, in which said territory is situated, and that the tract
therein and herein described is contiguous with the corporate
limits of the said City of Gilroy; and
1JIHEREAS, the proponents of the said annexation have
s~lbmj_ tted to the BoundDries COIl1Iaission of the County of 'Santa
Clara the proposal for the annexation of the aforesaid territory
to t he said City of Gilroy and the said Boundaries Commis sion
has reported to the said proponents approving the definiteness
and certainty of the proposed boundaries; and
vEIER"SAS, the said "Annexation of uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939" above referred to, req'J.ires that upon the filing of
such a petition, a Resolution shall be adopt8d by the Common
Council giving noticp of such proposed annexation, and fixing
the time and place of hearing when and where any person owning
real property 'IIJithin the said territory proposed to be annexed
may appear and object thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Common Council of the city of Gilroy hereby
designates the said territory proposed to be annexed to the City
of Gilroy as "CJ\,STLE"JOOD PARK UNIT NO.~lll and that said petition

be referred to the City ~anning Commission of the City of
G:l.lroy for it s report and reconl";lendat ion thereono
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, A:f\TD IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:
That Monday, the first day of March, 1951+, at the hour of
8:00 O'clock p.m. of said day, in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, Gilroy, California, be and the same is hereby fixed
as the time and place of the hearing of said petition when and
where any person owning real property within such tract so
proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed
annexation may appear before the said Corr@on Council and show
cause in writing, if any he has, why such territory should not
be so annexedo
