WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy has authorized a Civil Detense and Disaster
organization, which provides tor use of personnel and resources of the City
during an emergency; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy has entered into MUtual Aid Agreements
whereby the resources ot this City may be used to help other cities and
communities during disasters or emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has organized the State into MOtual
Aid Regions and Sectors for coordinating the ~lling of the resources
of the entire State in the event ot a State of Disaster, or an Extreme
Elllergency; and
WHEREAS, Mltual Aid Region 2 has designated the the County of Santa
Clara to be a unified Operational Area to expedite and coordinate emergency
operations during a State ot Disaster or Extreme Emergency;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Gilroy that the County ~
Director ot Civil Defense for the County of Santa Clara be hereby authorized
to act as Operational Area Coordinator to coordinate the Civil Defense and
Disaster operations of the County and Cities withingthe Operational Area
during a State Disaster, declared ~ the Governor or during a State ot
Extreme Eaergencyo
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy ot the Resolution ~
