RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING
THE CONVEYANCE OF TWO(2) ACRES OF GILROY GYMKHANA GROUNDS TO REPUBLIC
POWDERED METALS, INC.
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy is the owner of certain premises
comprising arout 8 acres located between Swanston Lane and the
Southern Pacific Railroad Right of way, along the South side of
Casey Street in the City of Gilroy! and,
WHEREAS, said property is not being used for any municipal
purposes and the City of Gilroy does not contemplate using it for
any Municipal purpose at this timej and,
WHEREAS, the REPUBLIC POWDERED METALS, INC., a Corporation,
has offered to purchase Two (2) Acres of said premises,which two(2)
acres is hereinafter more particularly described, from the City of
Gilroy for the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500.00) Dollars
cash~ current, lawful money of the United States of America, upon
delivery of a deed conveying the said property to REPUBLIC POWDERED
METALS, INC., and the Common Council of the City of Gilroy deems
it advisable and in the best interest of the said city and in the
public interest that said offer be accepted, and that the said two
(2) acre portion of said premises be sold for the said sum of Seven
Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500000) Dollarso
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEp,that the City of Gilroy sell
and convey to the said REPUBLIC POWDERED METALS, INC., for the said
sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500.00) Dollars cash, the
aforesaid two (2) acres, of which, the following is a description, to
wit:
BEING a portion of Sub Lot 6A as shown on Map Noo 8,
accompanying the Final Report of the Referees in the Las
Animas Rancho Partition Suitt Action Noo 5536 had in the
Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the
County of Santa Clara, and being more particula~

described as follows:
"BEGINNING at a 1" iron pipe in the southeasterly line
of Casey street, distant thereon S. 630 l4l 30" W. 213005
feet from an iron pipe at the intersection thereof with
the Southwesterly line of Swanston Lane as established in
the Deed from Miller & Lux, Incorporated, to the City of
Gilroy, a municipal corporation, recorded March 31, 1922
in Book 546 of Deeds at page 586, Records of Santa Clara
County, and running thence So 280 52r 30".Eo 290000 feet
to a buried I" pipej thence parallel with the Southeasterly
line of Casey Street So 630 l4r 30" w. 276060 feet to a
buried 1" pipej thence No 520 29 f 30" W. 74088 feet to a
buried I" pipe; thence parallel with and 20.00 feet distant
easterly from the southwesterly line of said Sub Lot 6A
as shown on said Map and as shown on Record of Survey Map
of "Gilroy Gymkhana Grounds" recorded October 3Jt 1957 in
Book 86 of Maps at page 481 N. 280 52l 30" W. 222087 feet
to a buried 1" pipe in the southerasterly line of Casey Street
distant thereon No 630 l4f 30. Eo 20000 feet from a buried
iron pipe at the most westerly corner of Sub Lot 6Aj thence
along the southeasterly line of Casey Street No 630 l4l 30"
Eo 306061 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 2000 acres of land."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a Grant Deed be executed on
behalf of the City of Gilroy by the Mayor of said city, conveying
the aforesaid Two (2) Acre Tract to the said REPUBLIC POWDERED
METALS, INC., and that the said deed be deposited in escrow with
the California Pacific Title Insurance Company, with instructions
to deliver the said deed to said purchaser upon the payment of the
aforesaid purchase price, the City of Gilroy to furnish and pay for
the Title Insurance Policy covering the said property to be conveyed 0
