RESOLUTION NO. 568
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF REAL PROPERTY
IN THE CITY OF GILROY ON ROSANNA STREET ADJACENT TO
THE CITY AUDITORIUM PROPERTY OWNED BY FLOYD JONES.
WHEREAS, FLOYD JONES has offered to sell to the City of
Gilroy for the sum of $6,000.00 net to him, the following described
real property located in the City of Gilroy, to wit:
Those certain premises located along the East side of
Rosanna Street, adjacent to the Southerly line of the
Wheeler Auditorium premises having a frontage of 83.7
feet along the said sIDe of Rosanna Street and consti-
tuting all of Lot 5 and part of Lot 2 of Block 1 South,
Range 3 West, of the City of Gilroy, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Gilroy believes that the
said City should acquire the said premises for the said sum of
$6,000.00i and that said premises will be required in the future at
a time when prices are considerably higher, and that it will be in the
public interest to acquire said property at ,this time and pay therefor
the said sum of $6,000.00 net to seller;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Gilroy that it purchase theaforesaid premises from the said
FLOYD JONES and pay therefor the said sum of $6,000.00 net to himi
that the sum of $100.00 be paid forthwith on account of the said
purchase price, and that the remaining $5,900.00 on the 1st day of
July be deposited with the Western Title Guaranty Company in San Jose
or some other title company to be selected by or approved by the City
Administrator with instructions to pay the same to the said owner upon
the recordation of a deed conveying title of the said premises to the
City of Gilroy free and clear of encumbrances, except taxes for the
fiscal year 1960-61.
