RESOLUT[ON NO. 583
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY RECOGNIZING
THE ONE HUNDREDtH ANNIVERSARV OF THE PRESBVTER[AN CHURCH IN GILROf
WHEREAS, September 16, 1960, marks the one hundredth anni=
versaryof the Presbyterian Church in Gilroy, and
WHEREAS, the present church, having been dedicated in 1869,
is the second oldest Presbyterian house of worship in the State
of Cal ifornia, and
WHEREAS, this one hundred years of its history is to be
~elebrated at a Centenial Banquet on Tuesday evening, September
20, 1960,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITV COUNCIL OF THE
CITV OF GILROV, that it does hereby recognize this century of
achievement and does hereby commend all past and present members
of this Church for their splendid contribution toward the reli=
gious and moral essentials of our community over these many years.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 1960, by the
