RESOLUTION NO. 80-11
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY FIXING
MAXIMUM CHARGES FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE, RUBBISH
AND REFUSE EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 1980.
RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Gilroy does
hereby declare that the following are the maximum charges for the
collection of garbage, rubbish and refuse effective March 1, 1980,
pursuant to Section 12.23 of the Gilroy City Code;
The maximum charges shall be as follows:
A. Garbage an,d Rubbish Col1ec.tion.. Garbage and rubbish in
regular garbage cans not to exceed thirty-two gallons, the contents
of each not to exceed fifty pounds weight.
(1) Residential: Monthly charge for unlimited service
one time per week per residential unit, including apartment
units: $4.00
(2) Commercial: Monthly charge for one collection
per week: One can; $2.90
Each additional ,can; $1.40
For each additional weekly collection,
multiply the additional collections by
the above rates.
B. Garbage and Rubbish Collection in Bins by the Cubic Yard.
(1) Monthly rates for one to six collections per week
in bin containers approved by collector:

(2) On-Call rates are as follows:
3 yard bin
$18.45 up to two (2) pickups per
month and ~6.20 per pickup there-
after and ~5.35 delivery charge.
$26.45 up to two (2) pickups per
month and $9.30 per pickup there-
after and $5.35 delivery charge.
$34.50 per month, plus $2.25 per
yard. Compacter rate, $4.30 per
yard.

C. Garden Refuse. No Charge. Unlimited quantity in con-
tainers or boxes, or in bundles not to exceed four (4) feet in
length and eighteen (18) inches in width, weight of each not to
exceed fifty pounds.
D. General.
Garbage, rubbish and garden refuse will be picked
up in the alley, or on the curb if no alley exists.
For use of a truck for special hauling of refuse,
a charge of $30.35 per hour will be made.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of January, 1980, by the
