RESOLUTION NO. 80-36
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DECLARING
THAT A PORTION OF THE ELECTRICAL WORK ON THE 1980 ADDITIONS
TO THE INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES SHALL BE
ACCOMPLISHED BY FORCE ACCOUNT LABOR AND OPEN MARKET PURCHASING.
WHEREAS, the City has received a low bid on the 1980 addition
to the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facilities almost $40,000
in excess of the engineer's $55,000 estimate; and
WHEREAS, the emergency nature of the project requires completion
by May 31, 1980; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated project costs can be reduced by using
city force account materials and labor on Items 1, 12, 13, 14, 16
and 17 of the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Gilroy that the City shall participate in the installation of Items
1, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 of the project without further complying
with Section 1109 of the City Charter pertaining to bidding on
contracts for public projects.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of April, 1980, by the following
