RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WAIVING CLAIM
OF t1ETROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COl~1ISSIO~ ARTICLE 4.5 FUNDS PROVIDING
PARATRANSIT SERVICES TO THE CITY OF MORGAN HILL.
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy has applied for funds from
Metropolitan Transportation Commission to provide a paratransit pro-
gram for handicapped adults in Gilroy; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Gilroy has proposed a paratransit program
that would coordinate service in the Morgan Hill-Gilroy-San Martin
area; and
WHEP~AS, the City has proposed that it subcontract to the
Escort/Senior Outreach Program of Economic and Social Opportunities,
Inc. to provide the paratransit service; and,
WHEREAS, the dispatch and scheduling function of the program
will be located in the City of Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, less administration costs will be incurred if the
program is consolidated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Gilroy does hereby waive its 4.5 claim to the City of Morgan
Hill for the expressed purpose of providing a consolidated Morgan
Hill-Gilroy-San Hartin paratransit program.
