RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 62
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY HONORING MILDRED
HANNA, SENIOR CITIZENS' ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBER.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to honor MILDRED HANNA
for her many contributions; and
WHEREAS, MILDRED HANNA has faithfully and energetically served
the City and Community in many worthwhile activities; and
WHEREAS, her primary service has been with Gilroy Senior Citi-
zen's Club, giving her time and participation for the betterment of
our Community and outstanding efforts in the improvement of conditions
for Senior Citizens including, but not limited to the following:
Instrumental in initiating the Escort Program funded by
the Council on Aging;
Initiated a variety of services for Seniors; Recreational
and Human Services while serving as Senior Coordinator from
1969 - 1973;
Outstanding leadership in the formation of the Nutrition
Program in Morgan Hill and Gilroy;
Representative for the Gilroy Senior Advisory Board, striv-
ing for health, legal and homemaking services for Seniors
from 1972 - 1979;
Distinguished service to the elderly of Santa Clara County
as Representative to the Council on Aging from 1974 - 1980;
Active membership in the United Methodist Church in Gilroy;
Leadership in forming the Board of Directors for the Las
Rositas Club;
Fifty (50) year member of the Order of Eastern Star;
Past President of the FREG Reading Club, an organization
concerned with studies on culture and history, existing
in Gilroy for eighty-one (81) years.
WHEREAS, the Gilroy City Council desires to take this oppor-
tunity to commend MILDRED HANNA'S past and continuing contributions

as a volunteer worker in a variety of Senior related programs and
activities both for the City and Community at large.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Gilroy City Council
does hereby commend and honor MILDRED HANNA for her conscientious
and loyal service to her fellow citizens, her community and the
American way of life.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 1980, by the
following vote:
