RESOLUTION NO. 80 - 77
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WITHDRAWING FROM
THE SOUTH SANTA CLARA COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENT-
LY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE DESIGNATION "MURRAY AVENUE
ANNEXATION 80-2 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
\.oJHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 18th day of
August, 1980, been annexed to the City of Gilroy" the following des-
cribed property located in the County of Santa Clara, State of Cali-
fornia to wi t :
BEING a portion of Lots 4 and 5 of Henry Hiller's Subdi-
vision of a part of Las Animas Ranch, Lot .34, as shown
upon the Map thereof filed for record February 26, 1891
in Book "E" of Maps at page 77, official Santa Clara
County Records and more particularly described as follows,
to wit:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the wester-
ly right of way 11ne of Murray Avenue (66 feet wide)
and the southerly right of way line of the Santa Clara
County Flood Control and Water District channel, said
point also being the northwesterly corner of the "Mur-
ray Avenue Annexation 71-8 to the City of Gilroy" as
described in Ordinance No. 953 of the City of Gilroy
adopted April 17, 1972. Thence from said point of
beginning along the westerly right of way line of Mur-
ray Avenue N. 21~ 41' 11" W., 152.00 feet to the nor-
therly boundary of the before mentioned Santa Clara
County Flood Control and Water District Channel; thence
along' said boundary S. 680 18' 49" vJ., 446.73 feet to
a beginning of curve; thence along the arc of a curve
to the right, tangent to the preceding 'course, with a
radius of 99.00 feet; through a central angel of 900
00' 00", a distance of 155.51 feet to an end of curve;
thence N. 2101 41' 11" W., 310.37 feet to a Beginning
of curve; thence along the arc of a curve to the left,
tangent to the preceding course, with a radius of
251.00 feet,through a central angel of 450 47' 47", a
distance of 200.62 feet to a point in the westerly
boundary of lands conveyed to John Francis Beno et ux
by deed recorded in Book 6102 of Official Records at
page 391, Santa Clara County Records; thence along the
last described boundary N. 210 41' 11" W., 621.56 feet
to the southerly right of way line of Las Animas Avenue
(66 feet wide); thence along said line 1\1. 680 18' Lj.9"
E., 687.73 feet to the easterly line of Murray Avenue
(66 feet wide) thence along the last mentioned line
S. 210 41' 11" E., 1362.86 feet to the before mention-
ed southerly line of the Santa Clara County Flood Con-
trol and Water District Channel, said point also being

the northerly line of the before described Murray Avenue
7178 annexation line; thence along said line S. 680 18'
49" W., 66.00 feet to the place of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 18.368 acres of land more or less, and
WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy were
at the time of such annexation, included in and formed a part of the
South Santa Clara County Fire District, and the Council of the City of
Gilroy desires that said territory so annexed be withdrawn from said fire
protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said territory herein-
before described and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "HURRAY AVENUE
ANNEXATION 80-2 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".be and the same is hereby withdrawn
from said South Santa Clara County Fire District.
