RESOLUTION NO. 80-80
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ALTERATIONS OF THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF GILROY BY THE ANNEXATION
THERETO OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "MURRAY AVENUE ANNEXATION 80-4 TO THE CITY OF GILROY't
WHEREAS. a written petition has been filed in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Gilroy in accordance with the provisions of
the ltMunicipal Organization Act of 1977lt, asking that there be annexed
to the City of Gilroy certain uninhabited territory located in the
County of Santa Clara. State of California. hereinafter more particu-
larly described; and
WHEREAS. said petition has been signed and consented to by the
owners of all of the land in the territory proposed to be annexed and
said territory is contiguous to the City of Gilroy; and
WHEREAS, an application for annexation of the said premises has
been filed with the Santa Clara County Local Agency Formation Commission.
and said Commission did make its determination upon the proposed annex-
ation. and has approved and authorized said annexation as proposed
prusuant to section 35157 of the Government Code; and
WHEREAS. pursuant to Section 35151 of the Government Code the
territory is to be annexed without notice and hearing. and without
an election.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GILROY AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: Under the authority of the said ttMunicipal Organization
Act of 1977tt. and Section 35221 of the Government Code of the State of
California. there is hereby annexed to the City of Gilroy the uninha-
bited territory particularly described as follows:

BEING a portion of Lot 5 and 6 as shown on "Map of the
Subdivision of the Southerly Portion of Las Animas Ranch-
lot 34 and Sub Lot 2", which map is filed for record in
Book '~t of Maps at page 79, Records of Santa Clara County,
California, and being more particularly described as follows;
BEGINNING at a point in the southwesterly line of Murray
Avenue distant thereon N.22020'W. 79.20 feet from the inter-
section thereof with the line common to Lots 5 and 6, as shown
on said map, said point of beginning also being the most
easterly corner of the Murray Avenue Annexation 76-7 to the
City of Gilroy as described in Ordinance No. 77-5 of the City
of Gilroy adopted February 7, 1977 and in the southwesterly line
of "Murray Avenue, No. 1 Annexation 71-8" to the City of
Gilroy as described in Ordinance No. 953 adopted April 17. 1972
and running thence along the southeasterly line of said Annexa-
tion 76-7 S.67040'W. 752.00 feet to a one inch iron pipe at
the most northerly corner of the lands of Be Ge Manufacturing
Company as shown on Record of Survey as filed for record
November 26, 1968 in Book 245 of Maps at page 4, Records of
Santa Clara County; thence along the northeasterly line of the
Lands of Be Ge S.22020'E. 264.00 feet to a point which lies
N.22020'W. 79.20 feet from the line common to Lots 5 and 6 as
shown on the first above described map of Las Animas Ranch10t 34;
thence parallel with the line common to Lots 5 and 6 N.67040'E. 752.00
feet to the intersection with the southwesterly line of Murray
Avenue, said point of intersection also being in the southwesterly
line of the "Burke Drive Annexation 69-1 to the City of Gilroy as
described in Ordinance No. 852 of the City of Gilroy adopted May 19,
1969 and running thence along said southwesterly line of Murray
Avenue and Annexation 69-1 N.22020'W. 264.00 feet to the point of
beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 4.557 acres, more or less. ~\~
Section II: The said territory hereby annexed to the City of Gilroy
is hereby designated as "MURRAY AVENUE ANNEXATION 80-4 TO THE CITY OF
GILROY".
Section III: This annexation shall take effect on the date of the
recordation of a certified copy of the certificate of completion with
the county recorder pursuant to Section 35354 of the Government Code.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of August, 1980, by the following
vote:
