RESOLUTION NO. 77 - 42
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WITHDRAWING FROM
THE GILROY RURAL FIRE DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENTLY ANNEXED
TO THE CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE DESIGNATION "SOUTH CHESTNUT STREET
ANNEXATION 77-1 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 6th day of June,
1977, been annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the designation of
"SOUTH CHESTNUT STREET ANNEXATION 77-1 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the
following described property located in the County of Santa Clara,
State of California to wit:
BEING a portion of Las Animas Ranchlot 46 as shown on
Map No. 7 accompanying the Final Report of the Referees
in the Las Animas Rancho Partition Suit, Action No.
5536 had in the Superior Court of the State of Califor-
nia, in and for the County of Santa Clara, and being
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeasterly corner of that cer-
tain parcel of land described in the Gift Deed
from Stuart Fletcher and Helene Anderson to the
City of Gilroy recorded in Book 0128 at page 378,
Official Records of Santa Clara County, being also
the northeasterly corner of Parcel II as described
in Ordinance No. 980 of the City of Gilroy "South
Chestnut Street 73-1 Annexation to the City of Gil-
roy, and running thence along the easterly boundary
of said Annexation S. 30 00' 40" E. 330.52 feet to
the southeasterly corner thereof in the northerly
line of "Southeast Annexation 65-1" to the City of
Gilroy as described in Resolution No. 936 of said
City; thence along the northerly and easterly line
of said Annexation 65-1 S. 890 47' 40" E. 89.51 feet
and S. 00 12' 20" W. 29.70 feet to a southeasterly
corner of said Annexation in the southerly line of
said Ranchlot 46; thence easterly along the souther-
ly line of Ranchlot 46 S. 890 47' 40" E. 928.06
feet to the intersection thereof with the westerly
line of the State Highway (101 Freeway) as conveyed
to the State of California by Deed recorded April 9,
1970 in Volume 8883 at page 686, Official Records
of Santa Clara; thence northerly along the easterly
line of said Highway along a curve to the left with
a radius of 2930 feet, from a tangent bearing of N.
50 15' 47" E., through a central angle of 70 02' 27"
for a distance of 360.06 feet to the northwesterly
corner of said parcel conveyed to the State of Calif-
ornia in the northerly line of Ranchlot 46; thence

along the northerly line of Ranchlot 46 N. 890 47'
40" W. 1045.77 feet to the point of beginning, and
CONTAINING THEREIN 8.482 acres, more or less, and
WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy
were at the time of such annexation, included in and formed a part
of the Gilroy Rural Fire District, and the Council of the City of
Gilroy desires that said territory so annexed be withdrawn from said
fire protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said territory here-
inbefore described and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "SOUTH
CHESTNUT ANNEXATION 77-1 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" be and the same is
hereby withdrawn from said Gilroy Rural Fire District.
