RESOLUTION NO. 77-51
RESOLUTION OF THE GILROY CITY COUNCIL HONORING
JACK ROCCA UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM PUBLIC SERVICE
WHEREAS) Jack Rocca, a native Gilroyan, is now retiring after
thirty-nine (39) years of public service with the State Employment
Development Department; and
WHEREAS) Jack is highly respected locally and statewide for the
innovations and exemplary efforts he has contributed to the people of
California; and
WHEREAS) he was primarily responsible for the original establish-
ment of a State Employment Office at Gilroy back in 1939; and
WHEREAS) this devoted individual has spent the major part of his
career serving the people of the Gilroy area; and
WHEREAS) he has further served with continuous interest in
community organizations and projects.
NOW) THEREFORE) BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Gilroy,
representing the entire community, that it hereby takes this opportunity
to commend Jack Rocca for the many contributions he has made to this
City during his thirty-nine (39) years with the State.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be a permanent
part of the City of Gilroy's public record.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Gilroy City Council, representing
the people of Gilroy, extend their best wishes to Jack Rocca for his
continued success in all of his future efforts and a most enjoyable
retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of August, 1977, by the following
