RESOLUTION NO. 75- 38
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY REQUESTING
PERMISSION OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ALLOW A
PARADE ON STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE 152.
WHEREASJ the City Council of the City of Gilroy did on the 21st
day of July, 1975, approve the request of the Gilroy Bonanza Days' to proclaim
Gilroy Bonanza Days 1975 from September 19th to 28, 1975, granting permission
to use City facilities and conduct parades in connection with said celebration;
and
WHEREASJ one of the parades during this celebration is scheduled
for September 28,1975 at the hour of 1:00 p.m., a portion of the route of
said parade proposed for First Street, specifically State Route No. 152 from
Monterey Street to Wren Avenue; and
WHEREASJ said parade will be sponsored by the Gilroy Bonanza Days'
Organization and the local Gilroy Police Department will control the traffic
and/or detour if necessary for the safe and expeditious movement of public traf-
fic and for the safety of the participants in the parade.
NOWJ THEREFOREJ BE IT RESOLVED that in accord with Section
21101(e) of the Vehicle Code the City of Gilroy hereby requests the State Depart-
ment of Transportation to allow the Gilroy Bonanza Days' parade scheduled for
September 28, 1975 at the hour of 1:00 p.m.; said parade entries to line up on
Eigleberry Street, proceed north on Eigleberry Street to First Street (State
Route No. 152) to Wren Avenue.
