RESOLUT I ON NO. 1789
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY
ESTABLISHING RATES FOR INDUSTRIAL SEWERAGE SERVICE CHARGES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY, CALIFORNIA,
that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 606, the City Council does
hereby fix and establish the following rates for Industrial Sewerage Service
cha rges .
1. Allowance for In-Plant Loss Factor.
(a) Where water input into user's water system is metered to
establish user's monthly industrial sewerage charges, the user
shall be allowed the first 20,000 cubic feet per month at no
cost as an output loss factor.
(b) Where user's industrial sewerage is metered at its connec-
tion into City's industrial sewerage system, no credit for an
in-plant loss will be allowed.
2. Service Charges for Handling Industrial Wastewater.
Charges for handling wastewater in the industrial sewerage
system shall be proportionate to its inert solids content in
accordance with the following table:

501 - 550 13.7c per 100 cu.ft. 27.4c per 100 cu. ft.

3. Co 11 ect i on of Samples and Testing.
Samples of inddustrial wastewaters of individual users shall be
tested by the City as deemed necessary. Where provided and main-
tained by the user, a mechanical sample collection device, designed
to take a representative sample over a 24-hour period, shall be
used to determine the effluent characteristics. This sample shall
be taken by or under the direction of the City.
Wherever a user requests additional solids testing outside of City's
scheduled testing procedure, user shall reimburse the City at the
rate of $20.00 for each un-scheduled test.

4. This resolution shall precede, rescind, and void Resolutions No.
518 and No. 1478 in regard to industrial sewerage waste user's
rates.
5. These rates shall become effective and be applied beginning with
the month of March, 1974.
