RESOLUTION NO. 1806
A RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION AND OF
INTENTION TO MAKE CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS
PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1
PROJECT NO. 64-1
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Gilroy, California,
that the public interest, convenience and necessity require, and
that it is the intention of said Council to make the following
changes and modifications in the proceedings had pursuant to Reso-
lution No. 837 of Preliminary Determination and of Intention adopted
by said Council on June 15, 1964:
1. Eliminate the acquisition and improvement of Parking Site B,
being a parcel 80 feet wide and 163 feet long, 60 feet south of
Martin Street on the west side of the alley west of the railroad,
and substitute therefor the improvement, including the provision for
diagonal parking, of Monterey Street from Lewis Street to Sixth
Street by clearing, grubbing, grading, removal of existing trees,
shrubs and structures and the construction therein of base, pave-
ment, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, walkways, tree wells, street trees,
benches and other street furniture, removal and relocation of street
lighting facilities, traffic signals and street signs, where re-
quired, surface and subsurface storm drainage facilities, including
drop inlets and culverts, where required, removal of concrete median
and sidewalks area, where reqUired, signing and striping of traffic
lanes and pedestrian crossings, where required, landscaping, in-
cluding sprinkler and irrigation systems, where required, and the
construction of traffic islands and traffic channelization, where
required, together with appurtenances to any of the above.
2. Change and modify the plans and specifications in said pro-
ceedings to reflect the above changes.
3. Change and modify Paragraph 8 of said Resolution to read
as follows:
"8. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent
unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed
seven percent (7%) per annum, will be issued hereunder pursuant to
Bond Plan D (ad va1o~em land bonds), Chapter 12A, Article III,
Division 5 of the Gilroy Improvement Procedure COde, the last
installment of which bonds shall mature not to exceed thirty-nine
(39) years from the second day of July next succeeding ten months

4. Change and modify Section 9 of said Resolution to read as
follows:
"9. Except as herein otherwise provided for the issuance
of bonds and for the formation of a parking district, all of said
work shall be done as provided in Chapter l2A, Articles I and II,
of said Gilroy Improvement Procedure Code."
Notice is hereby given that Monday, the 15th day of July,
1974, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers,
7390 Rosanna Street, Gilroy, California, are hereby fixed as the
time and place when and where said Council will consider the
matter of making said changes and modifications and whether or
not the public interest, convenience and necessity require such
changes and modifications and hearing all persons interested
therein.
The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this Resolution to be
published twice in the Gilroy Dispatch, a newspaper of general cir-
culation published in said City, and the newspaper in which the
Notice of Improvement under said Resolution of Preliminary Determi-
nation and of Intention was published; to cause a copy thereof to
be posted on or near the Council door; and to cause a copy thereof
to be mailed to the owners of property within said assessment
district, said publication and posting shall be completed at least
ten days before the date of hearing, and said mailing shall be
completed at least twenty days before the hearing date.
