RESOLUTION NO, 1858
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GILROY HONORING MR,VERNON J~ CRISTINA}
STATE OF CALIFORNIA} FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
GILROY,
WHEREASJ MR, VERNON J, CRISTINA is retiring from the
State Highway Commission after eight (8) years of service to the people of the
State of California as a member of that Commission; and
WHEREAS} the local governmental agencies of the County of Santa
Clara have determined to honor Mr. Cristina on the evening of November 21, 1974,
for his many contributions to our area.
NOW} THEREFORE} BE IT RESOLVED} the Gilroy City Council
hereby takes this opportunity, along with all of the residents of our community
to extend our best wishes to retiring Commissioner Cristina, and to further
extend our commendations and thanks for the efforts he undertook specifically
benefiting the Gilroy area. The major contribution being his singular efforts
in expediting the Construction of the Gilroy Freeway Bypass from North of the
City of Morgan Hill to South of the City of Gilroy. We further wish him simi-
lar successes in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED} that a copy of this Resolution shall
be included in the records of the City of Gilroy for the reference of all future
generations.
