RESOLUTION NO. 1617
RESOLUTION TO ASSIGN TOPICS FUNDS APPORTIONMENTS FOR THE
BENEFIT OF THE CITY OF CAMPBELL TOPICS FUND.
By adoption of Resolution No. 1532 of November 16, 1970, this Council
confirmed its option to accept and accumulate TOPICS funds apportioned to
the City of Gilroy for the 1969-70 and 1970-71 fiscal years to combine them
with other unclaimed TOPICS funds allocated to Gilroy for use by the City of
Gilroy in financing its TOPICS project. It is the desire of this Council to
assign our apportionments to the City of Campbell to finance a more subs tan-
tial project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Gilroy does RESOLVE as
fo 11 ows :
That this City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the
City of Gilroy to assign its TOPICS fund apportionment to the City of
Campbell.
That this Council requests a favorable recommendation from the County
of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors acting in the capacity of coordinating
agent for the urban areas of Santa Clara County;
RESOLVED, that this City Council hereby exercises its option to assign
funds to another agency within the urban area of the County and hereby assigns
TOPICS funds ($25,690) apportioned to the City of Gilroy for the 1969-70 and
1970-71 fiscal years to the City of Campbell. And be it further
RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
transmit (2) certified copies of this resolution to the County of Santa Clara
Board of Supervisors and to the State of Cal ifornia Department of Public Works.
