Resolution 1622 RESOLUTION NO. 1622 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GILROY REQUESTING APPROVAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS TO PERMIT A PARADE WITHIN THE CITY OF GILROY. WHEREAS, the I.F.D.E.S. Portuguese Society of Gilroy has requested to hold its annual parade on May 7, 1972, at 10:00 a.m., along the following route: The parade route, as proposed, would start at Old Gilroy and Forest Streets, then march west on Seventh Street to Monterey Street, north on Monterey Street to Fourth Street, west on Fourth Street to Eigleberry Street, then North on Eigleberry Street to First Street where the Catholic Church is located, and after Mass at the Church, they would return by the same rou te; and WHEREAS, the Gilroy Chief of Pol ice shall assume the responsibil ity of traffic control during this event; and WHEREAS, the City Council has approved this parade and routing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the City of Gilroy hereby and respec- tively requests the permission of the State of California Department of Public Works, Division of Highways to allow this parade.
