RESOLUTION NO. 1646
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WITHDRAWING
FROM THE GILROY RURAL FIRE DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENTLY
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE DESIGNATION IICASTLE-
WOOD PARK ANNEXATION 72-2 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 15th day of May, 1972, been annexed
to the City of Gilroy, under the designation of "CASTLEWOOD PARK ANNEXATION
72-2 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the fol lowing described property located in the
County of Santa Clara, State of Cal ifornia, to wit:
BEING a portion of Las Animas Ranchlot No. 16 as shown on Map
No.7 accompanying the Final Report of the Referees in the
Las Animas Rancho Partition Suit, Action No. 5536 had in the
Superior Court of the State of California in and for the
County of Santa Clara, and being more particularly described
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the 1 ine common to Ranch Lots
16 and 21 distant thereon S. 880 581 32" E. 268.86
feet from the southwesterly corner common to said Lots
in the easterly line of Ranchlot 22 said point of
beginning also being the northeasterly corner of
Castlewood Park Annexation 67-1 to the City of Gilroy
as described in Resolution No.1 163 of said City
adopted January 22, 1967 and running thence along
said common line between Lots 16 and 21 S. 880 58'
32'1 E. 641.04 feet to the southeasterl y corner to
Ranch Lot 21; thence continuing along the northerly
I ine of that certain 157.788 acre tract of land
described as Parcel 4 in the Deed to San Martin
Vineyards Company recorded in Volume 2627 of Offi-
cial Records at page 215 S. 840 43' 32" E. 404.58
feet and S. 890 171 5911 E. 42.00 feet to an inter-
section with the Boundary of IICastlewood Park Annexa-
tion No. 3" to the City of Gilroy as described in
Ordinance No. 651 of said City adopted April 20, 1961;
thence along said Boundary S. 00 37' 01" W. 150.00
feet and S. 890 17159" E. 232.86 feet; thence leaving
said boundary S. 00 511 24" W. 125.00 feet, N. 890
171 59" w. 418.00 feet, S. 00 511 24" E. 194.95 feet
and N. 890 081 36" W. 1035.04 feet to a point in the
easterly boundary of "Castlewood Park Annexation
67-1" to the City of Gilroy as described in Resolution
No. 1163 of said City adopted January 22, 1967; thence
along said easterly boundary N. 150 40' 1511 E. 520.69
feet and containing 12.961 acres
and,
WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy were at the time of
such annexation, included in and formed a part of the Gi Iroy Rural Fire District,

and the Council of the City desires that said territory so annexed be withdrawn
from said fire protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said territory hereinbefore described
and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "CASTLEWOOD PARK ANNEXATION 72-2 TO THE
CITY OF GILROY" be and the same is hereby withdrawn from said Gilroy Rural Fire
District.
