RESOLUTION NO. 1687-8
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY AUTHORIZING FILING
OF APPLICATION FOR DE-ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS WITH THE LOCAL AGENCY
FORMATION COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of August, 1971, the City Council
of the City of Gilroy did annex uninhabited territory known as "South
Monterey No.2 Annexation 71-4 to the City of Gilroy" located on the
east side of Monterey Highway, west of the Southern Pacific Railroad,
containing 90.39 acres;
WHEREAS, the said territory was annexed by the City of Gilroy
to be utilized as industrial land for a meat processing plant which did
not materialize for said use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the owner of said property
hereinbefore mentioned does hereby consent to de-annexation from the
City Limits of the City of Gilroy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Gi lroy
hereby authorizes the fil ing of de-annexation proceedings with the Local
Agency Formation Commission and further requests that said de-annexation
proceedings be initiated to exclude said territory from the City of Gil-
roy.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of November, 1972, by the
