RESOLUT[ ON NO. 1543
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION FOR
MUNICIPAL OFFICERS TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF GILROY ON APRIL 13, 1971, AND
FIXING THE TIME THAT THE POLLS SHALL OPEN AT SAID ELECTION FROM 7:00 A.Mo TO
8:00 PoM4
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Gilroy fixes April 13, 1971,
as a date for holding a general election in the said City of Gilroy for the
elective officers of the City at which time four (4) members of the Council
shall be elected; and
WHEREAS, the law applying to a municipal election requires that
the Council provide for the giving of notice of the election and fixing the
time when the polls shall open and close;
NOW THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that a general election shall be
held in the City of Gilroy on the said 13th day of April, 1971, for the pur-
pose of electing three (3) councilmen and one (1) mayor; that the said Clerk
give notice of the said election in accordance with law and to perform all
other acts which are required for the holding and conducting of the said
election; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the polls shall be open between the
hours of 7:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock p.m. and the notice of the
election shall so state in addition to all other matters that are required
in sa i d not ice.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of January, 1971, by the follow-
