RESOLUTION NO. 1562
RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT NO MAJORITY PROTEST
HAS BEEN MADE TO THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY
DESIGNATED IN THE PROCEEDINGS AS "MANTELLI
NO. 2 ANNEXATION 70-14 TO THE CITY OF GILROY"
WHEREAS, a petition has heretofore been filed in t he Office
of the City Clerk of the City of Gilroy proposing the annexation
of certain territory therein described and designated as
"Mantelli No. 2 Annexation 70-14 to the City of Gilroy"'; and
WHEREAS, the Council did heretofore, and on the 16th day
of February, 1971, adopt Resolution No. 1546 determining that
the said petition was signed by the owners of more than one-
fourth of the land in the territory in said petition described
by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized
assessment roll of the County of Santa Clara, and fixing Monday,
the 5th day of April, 1971, at thehour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. in
the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Rosanna Street, Gilroy,
California, as the time and place for hearing protests against
the said annexation; and
WHEREAS, the notice of the said hearing has been given as
required by law, and the said hearing has now been held in
accordance with the said notice and continued to this date, and one
landowner appeared to protest the said annexation representing
less than one-twentieth of the value of the land proposed to be
annexe d;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and the Council does hereby
find that no majority protest has been made or filed against the
said annexation, at or before the time of the said hearing, or at
any other time.
PASSED AND ADOPTED immediately following the continued
hearing mentioned in the above Resolution, this 20th day of
April, 1971, by the following vote:
