RESOLUTION No. 1584
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GILROY ESTABLISHING CHARGES
RELATING TO WATER SERVICE AS PROVIDED
IN CHAPTER 27 OF THE GILROY CITY CODE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Gilroy
that the rates and charges set forth in Chapter 27 of the Gikoy
City Code prior to its amendment remain in effect until July 31,
1971.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following rates and charges
be established for water service under the following Sections
of the City Code commencing August 1, 1971, and that the proceeds
therefrom be deposited in the City water fund.
1. Section 27.12: Deposits by applicants for water service
shall be;
a. For single family residence $20.00
b. For commercial service $30.00
c. For multi-residential units $10000 per unit
2. Section 27.12: Service charge payable with each new water
service application shall be Two ($2000) Dollars.
30 Section 27.17: Deposit to test meter at customer's request
shall be Five ($5.00) Dollars.
4. Section 27.3602: Customers whose checks are returned
unpaid by banks shall pay a service charge of Three ($3.00) Dollars.
5. Section 27.37: Reconnection of service after being turned
off due to delinquency shall be Five ($5.00) Dollars.
6. Section 27.38: Reconnection charge when water has been
disconnected due to delinquency and the customer has turned it on
shall be Ten ($10.00) Dollars.

7. Section 27042: Rates for metered service in the city shall

Rates for larger meters will be established by the Finance
Department as necessary.
8. Section 27.45 and 27.54: The charges for installation
of water services shall be as follows:

set the meter at no charge.
9. Section 27.46: Service charge of Two ($2.00) Dollars
shall be charged each time a customer establishes a new account.
10. Section 27.50: Rates for metered service outside the
city shall be as follows:

Rates for larger meters will be established by the Finance

II. Section 27060: Water fee for unmetered or for table
metered services shall be as follows:

1)
Streets, subdivision and other development projects:
Charge $2.00 per $1,000 of contract cost for the
following items:
Clearing, grubbing, grading (including lot grading)
subgrade, base rock, curb, gutter, sidewalk,
driveways and other concrete work, plus (2) if
applicableo

Underground utilities - storm, sanitary and water
mains.
If the project calls for installation of these
utilities the fee shall be:
50~/$1,000 contract cost.
All other projects or if required by the City:
The consumer shall pay a flat fee as set by
the City (with a minimum of $10.00).
In lieu of (1) (2) and (3) above the consumer may
elect to use a portable water meter.

(a)
The fee shall be $10.00 for water usage up
to 5,000 gallons and $0050 per 1,000 gallons
thereafter reported and paid monthly to the
city.
There shall be a deposit of $50.00 for the
meter. This will be refunded after return
of meter and payment of the bill.
(b)

(c) The consumer shall be responsible for all
meter damage and shall replace the meter
if stolen or lost.
