RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY WITHDRAWING FROM THE GILROY RURAL
FIRE DISTRICT TERRITORY THEREIN RECENTLY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF GILROY UNDER THE
DESIGNATION "SOUTH MONTEREY NOo 1 ANNEXATION 71-3 TO THE CITY OF GILROY".
WHEREAS, there has heretofore and on the 19th day of July, 1971, been
annexed to the City of Gilroy, under the designation of "S0UTH MONTEREY NO.
ANNEXATION ]1-3 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" the following described property located
in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, to wit:
BEGINNING at an angle point on the existing boundary line of the
City of Gilroy as described in the Third Southern Addition to the
City of Gilroy said point being the northeasterly corner of Lot 6
as shown on the "Map of Henry Reeves Subdivision of Las Animas
Ranch Lot Noo 49" fi led January 9, 1888, in Book C of Maps at Page
47 in the office of the County Recorder of Santa Clara County,
California; thence South 720 39' 48" West along said existing
boundary line of the City of Gilroy, 817040 feet to a angle point
in said existing boundary 1 ine; thence North 170 20' 12" West
along said existing boundary line, 279.84 feet to an angle point
in the westerly line of the right of way for California State
Highway Route 101 being the beginning of a curve concave northwes-
terly having a radius of 20000 feet radial lines through said point
bears North 720 39' 48" East; thence leaving said existing boundary
line of the City of Gilroy and along the westerly line of said right
of way for California State Highway 101 the following courses,
southerly and southwesterly along said curve through a central angle
890 24' 50" an arc distance of 31.21 feet to the beginning of a
compound curve concave southeasterly having a radius 94.00 feet;
thence westerly, southwesterly and southerly along said curve
through a central angle of 1020 04' 38" an arc distance of 167047
feet; thence tangent to said curve South 300 00' 00" West, 504027
feet; thence South 170 20' 12" East, 889.64 feet to the beg.inning
of a tangent curve concave northwesterly having a radius of 50.00
feet; thence southerly, southwesterly and westerly along said
curve through a central angle of 900 00' 00" an arc distance of
78.54 feet to the northerly line of Farman Lane, 20000 feet wide;
thence South 170 20' 12" West, 20000 feet to the southerly line
of said Farman Lane being a point on a curve tangent to said south-
erly line concave southwesterly having a radius of 50000 feet;
thence easterly and southweasterly along said curve through a
central angle of 770 19' 46" an arc distance of 67.48 feet to a
point of non-tangent curve concave westerly having a radius of
1973000 feet a radial line through said point bears North 810 27'
13" East; thence southerly along said curve through a central
angle of 30 18' 40" an arc distance of 114002 feet; thence tangent
to said curve South 50 14' 07" West, 327065 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave easterly having a radius of 3096.00
feet;thence southerly along said curve through a central angle of
130 14' 50" an arc distance of 715082 feet; thence tangent to said
curve South 180 28' 57" East, 12019 feet; thence leaving said
westerly line of the right of way for the California State Highway
Route 101, North 720 39' 48" East, 324052 feet to the easterly 1 ine
of said right of way for California State Highway 101; thence along
said easterly line the following courses, North 170 20' 12" West,
50.76 feet to the point on a non-tangent curve concave southeasterly
having a radius 1200000 feet a radial line through said point bears

through a central angle of 350 501 1911 an arc distance of 750.60
feet; thence North 270 44' 0311 East, 147061 feet to the begin-
ning of a tangent curve concave northwesterly having a radius of 800.00
feet; thence northeasterly and northerly along said curve through a
central angle of 440 371 26" an arc distance of 623007 feet; thence
North 160 531 23" West, 352.21 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve
concave easterly having a radius of 1000.00 feet; thence northerly
along said curve through a central angle of 230 061 02" an arc dis-
tance of 403.18 feet to the northeasterly line of said Lot 6 being
a point on a curve in said northeasterly line concave northeasterly
having a radius of 17,238.75 feet a radial line to said point bears
South 550 541 15" West; thence northwesterly along said curve through
a central angle of 10 191 54" an arc distance of 400066 feet to a
Point of Beginning.
CONTAINING THEREIN 41.84 acres,
and,
WHEREAS, said premises so annexed to the City of Gilroy were at the
time of such annexation, included in and formed a part of the Gilroy Rural Fire
District, and the Council of the City desires that said territory so annexed be
withdrawn from said fire protection district.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said territory hereinbefore des-
cribed and so annexed to the City of Gilroy as "SOUTH MONTEREY NO.1 ANNEXATION
71-3 TO THE CITY OF GILROY" be and the same is hereby withdrawn from said Gilroy
Rural Fire District.
