RESOLUTION NO. 1489
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY, AMENDING
RESOLUTION 1438 TO CHANGE THE "NO PARKING" ZONE ON THE WEST
SIDE OF MONTEREY STREET FROM 505 FEET SOUTH OF ITS FIRST
STREET INTERSECTION TO 475 FEET; AND ESTABLISHING A ONE-HOUR
PARKING LIMIT ALONG THE REMAINING DISTANCE ON THE WEST SIDE
TO SECOND STREET.
WHEREAS, Resolution 1438 of the City of Gilroy prohibited parking on the
west side of Monterey Street for a distance of 505 feet southerly from its inter-
section with First Street; and
WHEREAS, a review of parking available to businesses on the west side of
Monterey Street indicates that an additional parking space should be provided and
that a one-hour parking limit is warranted; and
WHEREAS, the State Division of Highways has reviewed this request for modi-
fication and is in agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GILROY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
That Resolution 1438 is hereby amended to restrict parking on the west side
of Monterey Street for a distance of 475 feet instead of 505 feet southerly from
its intersection with First Street and that parking is hereby restricted to a one-
hour limit for the remaining distance to Second Street, and
That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the State Division of Highways.
