Resolution 1503 WJML:SSD:~ 8/18/70 20c RESOLUTION NO. 1503 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONSOLIDATION OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION WITH GENERAL STATEWIDE ELECTION RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Gilroy, California, that WHEREAS, the Council proposes to call and order a Special Muni- cipal Election in said City to be held November 3, 1970; and WHEREAS, the public interest will be benefited, a larger, more representativ'e vote will result, and the interest and convenience of the voters will be respected if said Special Municipal Election is held on the same date and voting thereon is at the same precincts, with the same precinct officials as are established for the general statewide election to be held on the same date; NOW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows: 1. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara, State of California, is hereby requested pursuant to Chapter 4 (commencing with Section 23300) of Part 2 of Division 12 of the Elections Code, to order the consolidation of the Special Municipal Election to be held November 3, 1970, with the general statewide election to be held on the same date. 2. That the proposition to be voted upon at such election appear upon the same ballot as that prov'ided for such statewide election, and the exact form of such proposition, as the same is to appear on said ballot, is as follows: PROPOSITION: (Bond Interest Ra te ) Shall the maximum interest rate be changed from 6% to the maximum rate authorized by law, to wit: 7%, on the unissued portion of all of the bonds authorized at the special municipal bond election held on April 8, 1969, in the City of Gilroy, being the bonds set forth and described in the three separate measures submitted to the electors at said election? That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara is hereby authorized to canvass the returns of the Special Municipal Election, pursuant to Section 23306 of the Elections Code. 4. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the Board of Supervisors and the Registrar of Voters of the County of Santa Clara certified copies of this resolution at least seventy four (74) days prior to the general statewide election.
